European Symposium on Clinical Pharmacy (ESCP 2013)
- 16. October - 18. October 2013
- Clarion Congress Hotel, Prague
- Professional Congress Organiser - PCO
- Participants: 600
One of the ESCP's key commitments is to provide professional education for clinical pharmacists. The Society regularly arranges symposia, workshops, master classes and patient-centered teaching courses, and thus gives clinical pharmacy practitioners, educators and researchers the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience about new developments in the field of clinical pharmacy.
The Annual European Symposium is the main scientific event of the ESCP. This year's theme was "Implementation of Clinical Pharmacy Practice: Research, Education and Management". Apart from plenary lectures, the scientific programme of the Symposium included moderated discussions, round table discussions and workshops.
The Conference hosted up to 600 participants not only from Europe, but also from more distant countries, with a selection of renowned guest speakers. Those included for example Dr. Jeannell Mansur, the practice leader for medication safety at Join Commission International (JCI), who is a noted speaker and author.
The Symposium offered a varied social programme and associated events - welcome reception, guided tour through the historical centre of Prague and a Symposium dinner at the Vikarka restaurant at Prague castle. The dinner in the wonderfully restored Romanesque and Gothic cellar restaurant was accompanied with a short guided walk around the Prague Castle.
