ESPD was established in 1983 in Monte Carlo by a group of 40 doctors, who met on the initiative of prof. Marc Larrègue to create the European Society for Paediatric Dermatology. Today, the society has more than 400 members and it is ready to grow further.

The goals of ESPD are to promote clinical care, interdisciplinary research, education and training in the field of paediatric dermatology. The society holds an international meeting every year, alternating between the research oriented ESPD Congress and the teaching ESPD summer school.
