The topic of patients and their execution with medicine prescriptions is reopened in Lisbon.

During the 17th – 19thof November, 2016 the city of Lisbon hosts the 20th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Patient Adherence, Compliance and Persistence (ESPACOMP 2016). Even if the title might sound complicated, the event brings highly relevant topics, which examine the correlation between prescribed medicines and the way they are used by patients. Same as last year in Prague, the meeting is supported with C-IN´s professional services.

As a non-profit association, ESPACOMP examines both the clinical and economic consequences of the differences between a caregiver´s prescriptions and the patient´s execution of those prescriptions. ESPACOMP initiates facilitation of the translation of research into information that is useful for patients, healthcare providers and healthcare policy makers.

A yearly meeting welcomes 200 international adherence researchers, pharmacoepidemiologists and statisticians and entices interesting industry individuals to participate. A diverse scientific program also includes practically oriented pre-conference workshops led by the top professionals in the field.

During this year´s meeting, presenters ask questions such as what are the latest insights as to why patients do not take their medicines as prescribed? The plenary lectures is focused on medication adherence in HIV and how to motivate adult patients and children to adhere to treatment.

C-IN´s professional services provided for ESPACOMP 2015 in Prague were highly appreciated by both client and delegates. Therefore, C-IN accepted with enthusiasm the opportunity to co-organise ESPACOMP 2016 in Lisbon and deliver registration and accommodation services to delegates.
