As part of the Czech Renal Week held at the Prague Congress Centre from the 25th to the 27th of July, local PCO C-IN organised two conferences. These included The 35th Congress of Czech Society of Nephrology and The 5th International Symposium EUTOX focusing on uremic toxicity. C-IN continued their long-term co-operation with both associations and managing both events in the same week.

The Czech Society of Nephrology (CSN) brings together doctors and university educated professionals dealing with the treatment of kidney diseases. The society has over 400 professionals from a total of 101 dialysis units and 7 transplantation centres.

The congress focused on the exchange of new knowledge within the field, discussions of controversial topics and there was even time for networking. The central themes were developments and new possibilities in the treatment of kidney diseases, combined with presentations about appropriate procedures for special cases. The whole program of the Czech Society of Nephrology was followed by the 5th International EUTOX Symposium which was attended by many foreign specialists.

„This meeting is scoped to a relatively small but enormously prestigious event. Held every two to three years it is organized as a course CME by EUTOX, a working group ERA-EDTA whose full name is the European Uremic Toxins Working Group. The importance of the meeting held in Prague was shown by its participants, including amongst others, the outgoing president of ERA-EDTA Raymond Vanholder, the newly elected president Andrzej Więcek, their predecessor Gérard M. London, a graduate of the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague and 8 representatives from the 13 members of the committee of ERA-EDTA." said the president of the symposium prof. Vladimír Tesař.
