The board of the European Evaluation Society visits Prague.

Last week, the C-IN office in Prague welcomed a newly formed board of the European Evaluation Society (EES) led by president of the society, Riitta Oksanen. The partnership between C-IN and this highest evaluation authority regarding association management has successfully stepped into its 8th year of existence. Apart from advancing the strategic aim of the society, the organisation of the 12th EES Biennial Conference (EES 2016) was on the agenda.
During the visit to Prague, members of the EES executive board came to meet of C-IN´s organisational managing team for EES 2016. The common goal is to deliver a top event with the title “Evaluation Futures in Europe and Beyond: Connectivity, Innovation and Use” to the evaluation community. After 20 years the conference will return to the Netherlands, this time in Maastricht at the end of September.
Barbara Befani, the Programme Coordinator says: “This conference marks two important “firsts” in the history of the EES: for the first time in an EES conference, gender equality is a cross-cutting theme. Secondly, along with paper presentations, panels, poster sessions and roundtables, the EES conference will explore for the first time the potential of open space technologies, also known as “un-conference” events, which facilitate self-organised and spontaneous conversations open to everyone’s active participation.”
A productive meeting culminated by a dinner. The C-IN team is already looking forward to the outcome of this year´s cooperation with EES. The biennial conference in September is always a highly pleasant and inspiring experience.

Growing your Association´s membership base: Communication is key
It goes without saying that the membership curve grows faster if the association holds a congress in that given year. Discounted registration fees and other benefits are an easy attraction.
