The 39th ESSO European Congress will be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in October.

The European Society of Surgical Oncology was founded in 1981 to actively support young and experienced surgeons in the development of science and practice in surgical oncology.
Today, there are over 20,000 members. The association also offers an information channel and various e-learning activities. ESSO also publishes its own scientific journal, EJSO (Journal of Cancer Surgery). The biggest event of ESSO is the annual congress, attended by more than 700 delegates. The congress will be attended by surgeons, oncologists, students, specialized nurses and others in the field. They will receive practical advice, information, new techniques and knowledge that they can apply to their cancer patients upon return. The goal is to create a community where one can share personal experiences.
A three-day program, designed by leading scientific and surgical experts, will focus on improving the quality of European surgical-oncological care. It will offer interactive sessions, discussions, meetings and lectures to showcase the latest advances in research. A presentation of selected abstracts will offer, among others, examples of various cancers. Within the exhibition area there will be an opportunity to meet representatives of pharmaceutical companies and providers of medical technology.
