Stepping into the 26th Annual EAIE Conference.
On Tuesday 16th, we stepped into four days of networking and experience sharing in the field of international higher education.
The European Association for International Education (EAIE) is a non-profit member led association with more than 2500 members from around the world. The annual conference provides a unique opportunity for professionals in international higher education to network, acquire the latest knowledge at sessions and workshops, share experience and exchange new ideas. The theme of this year's conference is "Stepping into a new era".
Up to 5000 participants will be engaged in the conference programme over the four conference days, which includes more than 170 sessions, 29 workshops and 4 high-level dialogues debating key topics such as: Are university graduates fit for purpose? Does internationalisation pay a peace dividend? Campus tours showcasing six different Czech higher education institutions took place on Tuesday 16 September, providing participants with a first-hand view of higher education in the Czech Republic.
The EAIE Exhibition, which runs alongside the conference, enables up to 200 exhibitors to showcase their products and services and includes country pavilions from around the world. Networking events taking place every evening of the conference will also provide participants the opportunity to strengthen their connections and develop new partnerships. Chairman of Microsoft Europe, Jan Muehlfeit, will give a keynote speech at the Opening Plenary on Wednesday, September 17th on the importance of leadership and technology in higher education. Ing. Muehlfeit was born in former Czechoslovakia and studied at the Czech Technical University in Prague.
C-IN acts as local PCO of this conference, which is the largest one this year.

Growing your Association´s membership base: Communication is key
It goes without saying that the membership curve grows faster if the association holds a congress in that given year. Discounted registration fees and other benefits are an easy attraction.
