European Pediatric Oncology - Long-term cooperation brings unexpected opportunities
An annual meeting of European Pediatric Oncology (SIOPE) will take place at the Prague Congress Center from 20 to 24 May and for the first time this year, it will bring together all working groups of pediatric oncology. Amongst 1,400 registered people who have been invited personally are scientists, young experts, patient parents and more.
The aim of the SIOPE Annual Meeting is to create a platform that will improve communication between doctors and colleagues in the industry. One of the tools for fulfilling the vision is the innovative meeting format that encourages discussion and sharing of results across Europe regarding child cancer research. The big day will take place on Wednesday when the plenary session of all participating groups will take place at the same time.
For C-IN, the organization of the SIOPE meeting is the beginning of another long-term corePCO collaboration, which was ignited thanks to a positive reference from a long-standing client of C-IN, the International BFM Study Group. "The IBFM Study Group is one of the SIOPE subgroups for which we have been holding an annual meeting since 2013 with the participation of around 500 delegates. Thanks to this cooperation, C-IN was approached to participate in a tender where it won among eight candidates," added Daniel Švarc of the C-IN project team.
The European Society for Pediatric Oncology (SIOP Europe or SIOPE) was founded in 1998 and is the only European association for childhood cancer. Today, it has over 1,800 members from more than 35 European countries. Activities include research and projects to improve the treatment of childhood cancer. It focuses on the education of the new generation of professionals and seeks to create stable relationships between families and lawyers on a European level.

It goes without saying that the membership curve grows faster if the association holds a congress in that given year. Discounted registration fees and other benefits are an easy attraction.
