Safe use of medicines is discussed during a congress in Prague.

The 15th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP 2015) brings to Clarion Hotel Prague more than 400 physicians, pharmacists as well as representatives of drug agencies, universities, state authorities, and pharmaceutical industry. The goal of this event lasting from the 27th to the 30th of October, 2015, is to raise awareness of drug safety and best practices worldwide, by sharing the newest information on science and solutions among stakeholders.
Use of medicines has become more complex than ever before, bringing significant benefits as well as risks to public health and patient safety mainly due to the adverse reactions and medication errors. The International Society of Pharmacovigilance, which initiated ISoP congress, is an international non-profit scientific organisation which both scientifically and educationally enhance all aspects of the safe and proper use of medicine.
“The ISoP 2015 enables a unique chance for a wide range of professional audience to discuss particular topics such as drug safety in special populations, risks and benefits of medicines for woman, the role of pharmacists in patient safety or vaccination issue from different points of view and to share ideas on how patient´s safety could be further improved”, says prof. Jiri Vlcek, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee.
The meeting is hosted by the Charles University in Prague and the Czech Pharmaceutical Society under the auspices of Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and State Institute for Drug Control. The Czech Republic has a strong tradition in the field pharmacovigilance. It was one of the pioneer countries in development of spontaneous reporting systems that joined World Health Organization more than 40 years ago. This system serves to systematic collecting data in public health.
The event is supported by professional organising services provided by the company C-IN, which has a respectable background in the pharmacological field. The dedicated C-IN team secured registration of participants, both the scientific and social program, IT support and onsite management.

It goes without saying that the membership curve grows faster if the association holds a congress in that given year. Discounted registration fees and other benefits are an easy attraction.
