Particle therapy and C-IN: a particular association.

The Prague Congress Centre hosted recently a unique event dedicated to the progressive particle therapy and treatment. The 55th Annual Conference of the Particle Therapy Cooperative Group (PTCOG 55) held during 23 – 28 May 2016 and with more than 1200 delegates, confirmed that particle therapy is gaining ground all over the world. Growing number of proton centers and patients undergoing the treatment contributes substantially to both the improvements in the clinical experience and the public awareness.

The Particle Therapy Co-Operative Group (PTCOG), founded in 1985, is a non-profit worldwide organization uniting both scientists and professionals interested in proton, light ion and heavy charged particle radiotherapy. The ultimate goal of the PTCOG is to improve cancer treatment so that it meets the highest possible standards in radiation therapy.

The local organising institution, the Proton Therapy Center (PTC) in Prague is the only centre of this kind in the Central and Eastern Europe. The PTCOG 55 delegates thus had the unique opportunity to visit the Prague Centre and meet with its leading experts.

“In the Czech Republic proton therapy is recognised as a treatment covered by public health insurance, and it is also supported in the Ministry of Health Decree. We can demonstrate that its costs are comparable with the standard treatment. We believe that the results of the proton treatment presented here in Prague during this year's World Annual PTCOG Conference will provide convincing data for Czech oncologists and radiotherapists from comprehensive cancer centres,“ says the PTC Director Iva Taťounová.

The first 3 days of the scientific program were dedicated to the educational sessions followed by another 3 days full of scientific meetings including keynote lectures and thematic sessions. Industry symposia and extensive exhibition were equally an integral part of the Conference. The existing strong connection with industry partners in the field is vital for further realization of diverse ideas and projects.

C-IN is delighted that the two-year work starting with candidacy and event promotion in San Diego, continuing with registrations processing, abstracts management and gala dinner in the Spanish Hall of Prague Castle organization and culminating with the overall onsite management, has been eventually crowned with success and widely appreciated by the clients. Moreover, we strongly believe that this is only the start of the ongoing long-term cooperation with the PTCOG whose primary aim is to strengthen the entire professional community.

Growing your Association´s membership base: Communication is key

Business News | April 01, 2020

It goes without saying that the membership curve grows faster if the association holds a congress in that given year. Discounted registration fees and other benefits are an easy attraction.
