The annual conference of the company Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG (VI) took place at the conference center of andel's hotel Prague from the 9th to 11th of February 2014. One of the Guest Speaker was the managing partner of C-IN Peter de Merlier.
Peter de Merlier, PharmDr., co-founder and Director of Strategic Planning of the company C-IN, acted as a Guest Speaker at the Annual Conference of the hotel group VI., where he gave a presentation on „Trends in destination and venue decision making processes".
Recently, there has been an underlying trend towards conventions being held in Asia, whereas Europe remains the only region to have known a decrease in the number of organized meetings. In his presentation, Peter de Merlier mentioned that both the number of meeting days and overall meeting spending keeps decreasing.
Peter believes that the future belongs to virtual and hybrid events. Apart from considerable cost savings, these meetings enable to reduce time spent travelling not only for the participants, but also the speakers. Peter also treated the key factors that influence the destination and convention site selection choice process.
The representative of the company C-IN is an experienced speaker and has also actively contributed to the Congresses and other events of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA). At the 52nd ICCA Congress held in Shanghai, he acted as a speaker at a round table discussion and undertook the role of the moderator of the presentation and moderated discussion on Scientific discovery and advancement.
