11th EES Biennial Conference in Dublin, Ireland.

Evaluators from all over Europe and beyond are gathering together in Dublin, Ireland on the 1st of October to network and share their experiences about the role of evaluation in a changing world.
The mandate of the European Evaluation Society (EES) is to stimulate, guide and promote the theory, practice and utilization
of evaluation in Europe and beyond. As in past years, the EES Conference will bring together evaluators from all over the world to engage in reflection and debate about the role of evaluation in a changing world. Is the evaluation community equipped
to take on the diverse, unprecedented and interconnected challenges of economic disparities, social unrest and governance dysfunctions? These are among the questions to be explored through keynote speeches, paper presentations, panel debates and posters.
Over 700 participants will be engaged in the conference programme over the three conference days, which include more
than 150 sessions, 299 oral presentations and 62 panel abstracts.
Ireland's Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, H.E Brendan Howlin, gave a welcoming speech at the opening. (You can see his report from the conference here.)
C-IN has been the Core PCO partner with EES for 5 years.
This year's conference will be held at the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD). C-IN organized the first conference in the newly opened CCD, namely the conference EDTNA / ERCA in 2010.

It goes without saying that the membership curve grows faster if the association holds a congress in that given year. Discounted registration fees and other benefits are an easy attraction. But what if the conference is held every two or even three years? The expectations for the number of members are logically lower, but one should not simply disregard this as a non-congress year.
