Join the rEVALUATION 2016.

Evaluators from all over Europe and beyond gathered together in Maastricht, Netherlands from the 26th of September until the 30th of September, 2016 at the 12th EES Biennial Conference (EES 2016) to network and share their experiences about the role of evaluation in a changing world, including innovative discussion forums. EES 2016 was also the fourth collective work in a row for C-IN and EES.

The European Evaluation Society (EES) is a non-profit association initiated in 1992. The mandate of EES is to stimulate, guide and promote the theory, practice and utilization of evaluation in Europe and beyond. The common vision is a world where evaluation contributes to human welfare through social learning.

“The topic, which was chosen for this year´s conference is "Evaluation Futures in Europe and Beyond: Connectivity, Innovation and Use". It reflects the conviction that with continuous changes in Europe and globally, evaluation cannot stay the same. It must evolve to remain relevant. We believe that the Conference will be an important opportunity in jointly exploring questions and seeking answers to what this means,” says Riitta Oksanen, EES President.

This progressive effort shows the introduction of a variety of platforms for discussions during the conference. Apart from the traditional presentation and panel sessions, EES 2016 organisers also experimented with less formal set-ups such as fishbowl panels, knowledge cafes and an open space “pop-up” conference session at the end of the programme.

However, the traditional part of the scientific program was challenging, as it included more than 176 sessions, 279 oral presentations and 31 panel abstracts. Over 700 participants were engaged in the conference programme over the three conference days.

The C-IN company provides the EES with full Core PCO services and Association Management services on a long term basis since 2009. C-IN highly values this long term partnership and strives to improve every conference towards a creative environment for all delegates.
